We've been Golden West members for about 3 years now, ever since they set up our swamp cooler (which has been a lifesaver in the summers!). Always super professional, and the membership means big savings on all of our utilities needs. Most recently, ...Riley and Joel helped shut down the cooler for the winter, and made sure our furnace was up to safety specs. All of the technicians are very nice, but after my recent experience with someone coming out to inspect my furnace, I will be using a different company moving forward. Not only are they EXPENSIVE AF, I was told I should replace my furnace for 10k and ...when I got a second opinion, the other company said that was ridiculous advice and suggested $400 in simple repairs.Read More...
I hate to write bad reviews, but I have given this company ample time to respond appropriately and they have now ghosted me. I'd love to save others from the same experience I had. I have used GW in the past for some other work and always had a good ...experience and felt the pricing was fair. However, my last experience, having a garbage disposal fixed, ended up being an almost $1k repair. Shame on me for not knowing any better and agreeing to a service I felt like I needed to have immediately taken care of. It wasn't until after the fact that I realized how overcharged I was for this service, which really shouldn't have cost more than half of what I paid. I think it is also important to note that the repair itself took less than an hour from start to finish. While a manager did respond to my inquiry post-service, I could not get a clear answer on why the service cost what it did. Note - they do NOT break out the cost of materials vs. labor and they say that they are not a "handyman" which warrants their prices. Woof. Anyways, they said they would follow up on some sort of monetary reimbursement, but after that, I never heard from them again. Unfortunately, I won't be using Golden West again and I recommend shopping around before committing to using them. Expensive lesson for me to learn.Read More...
